TCS London Marathon: defending champion Sisay lemma leads
TCS London Marathon: defending champion Sisay lemma leads. The TCS London Marathon is going on in full swing in London. The elite men’s field for the London Marathon contains an amazing list of distance running talent. The marathon is headed by Sisay Lemma; defending champion of the World Athletics Elite Platinum label road race held last year.
In the lineup, you can also see the three fastest men in the history of the Marathon together. Along with multiple Olympic and world champions MO Farah and Kenenisa Bekele.
Before winning last year, Defending champion had 21 races over a Marathon distance. He also had wins in Vienna, and Frankfurt, and finished in third place in Abbott World Marathon races. These races include London races in 2020.
The 31-year-old Sisay would be eagerly ready to show his talent; to defend his victory over the World Marathon in London he has to work hard. However, he has to face a world-class lineup and incredible talent including three Ethiopians. Ethiopians are among the fastest Marathon runners in the world in the history of the Marathon. The race will take place in London on October 2, 2022, Sunday.
Bekele in the lineup of Marathon
Bekele is the 2nd fastest Marathon runner in the history of Marathon with a record 2:01:41. He is one of the all-time greatest distance runners. The 3-time Olympic champion will be hoping to put London victory into his incredible profile for 1 last time.
He had come close to winning London twice; he finished second and third in 2017 and 2016 respectively. Injuries recently have hampered his career since winning the 2019 Berlin Marathon with a record 2:01:41.
Apart from Bekele, Birhanu is the third-fastest man in history(2:02:48), Mosinet Geremew (2:02:55), Farah winner of 10 global titles, and Vincent Kipchumba will be taking part. The lineup for Marathon is strong and highly competitive, so the defending champion would have to give more than 100% to win.
