AS Monaco confirmed the signing of Takumi Minamino from Liverpool on a four-year contract on Tuesday. Check out complete details about it below.
Takumi Minamino has moved to AS Monaco from Liverpool
Following joining Liverpool from Red Bull Salzburg, the 27-year-old Japanese international scored 14 goals in 55 appearances.
The player made an official announcement and stated that he is very happy to join AS Monaco. He is delighted to be a member of the Club’s initiative, which has recently finished on the podium twice in a row.
Minamino has so far appeared in 391 official matches. In those matches he have scored 114 goals and total 41 assists. While he was also part of 48 in European tournaments, as of his debut. Since 2015, the winger has represented Japan in international competitions, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
Minamino began his professional career at Cerezo Osaka when he was only 17 years old. He then moved on to Red Bull Salzburg, where he achieved five Austrian crowns in a row and also four Austrian Cups.
These achievements caught the interest of Liverpool, and he signed with them in January 2020. And later he emreged as an English champion.
Thereafter, after failing to break into Liverpool’s squad, he was transferred to Southampton FC for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season, where he featured in 10 games and scored two goals.
Minamino started his career in 2012 with J.League Division 1 team Cerezo Osaka, where he was crowned J.League Rookie of the Year in his debut season. He joined Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2014, where he had four excellent seasons. After his great performances for the club, he moved Liverpool on January 1, 2020.
Minamino made his international appearance for Japan in 2015, was a key member of the side that advanced to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup final.
