Syracuse Adds Five True Freshmen Starters For The 2022 Season
Syracuse Adds Five True Freshmen Starters For The 2022 Season: Syracuse added talented players in its 2022 recruiting class. Here are five true freshmen who could contribute to the Orange this season.
LeQuint Allen – Running Back: The ability to run, make plays, and take away from the defense have made Allen an enticing option in training camp and the spring game. Also he has had a good training camp up to this point, so expect him to see carries this season. There is speculation that Tucker will get all of the opportunities, but other players like Juwaun Price may too.
James Williams, the likely starter at punter, should not struggle in 2019. But if he does, Maximilian Von Marburg – a freshman Australian coming to Syracuse via prep school since last year – will be given a look-see to see what he can do with the job.
This linebacker unit is set but the backups are looking to earn their own snaps and playing time this season. Mekhi Mason one of them who showed promise in the spring and could be a starter even in the fourth quarter. Expect to see him on the field this season and making key plays for St. Louis.
With Syracuse looking to solidify its defensive line, there is the potential that a true freshman earns some playing time. Jaquez had a strong training camp and earned a backup spot going into the season. He will be an important part of the rotation.
Jeremiah Wilson has been showing everyone valuable skills during training camp. He is able to reduce the many of receivers and has shown to be a capable defender. While the secondary for the Orange is deep and talented, it may be too difficult to exclude him from playing.
