New Zealand Cricket (NZC) released the core contracts for the upcoming 2022-23 season on Friday. Ajaz Patel, a left-arm spinner, has been added to the squad, as has all-rounder Michael Bracewell, who has received his first call-up.
Ajaz helped New Zealand win a rare Test series against England at Edgbaston in June last year before ending the five-match T20 leg against Bangladesh as the leading wicket-taker in September. His most remarkable effort, though, came against India in the second Test in Mumbai in December, when he took all ten first-innings wickets and finished with 14 total.
This is expected to be $65.3 million throughout the four-year term, which begins on Wednesday, an increase of roughly 16% over the previous four years. Furthermore, the player payment pool will get 30% of professional earnings above and beyond the predicted amount.
Contracted White Ferns may now earn between $142,000 and $163,000 every game, which includes a retainer and match money. It was a 100 percent increase above their previous agreement. The White Ferns are paid $4000 each One Day International and $2500 per Twenty20 match.
White Ferns players can also play in international competitions like as Australia’s Women’s Big Bash League, where they can earn an extra $75,000 to $100,000. In domestic cricket, women from each major association earn between $18,146 and $19,146 per year, which includes a retainer and match costs. Match costs for the one-day competition are $800, and $575 for the Super Smash T20 event. The highest-ranked White Fern, who also competes in a complete domestic season, might earn over $180,000. Cricket has come a long way since 2014, when the highest a White Fern could earn was roughly $25,000 per year.
