Although New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu impressed the basketball world by making 25 of 27 baskets in the WNBA All-Star Game three-point shooting contest.
An all-time record holder for both men and women, she didn’t miss a beat on the social network, challenging even Stephen Curry.
Sabrina was clearly in fine form in a 3-point shooting contest held as part of the WNBA All-Star Game last Friday. Already very efficient in the qualifying round, where she scored 26 of 40 possible points, the New York Liberty team leader prepared counters in the final.
What did Stephen Curry say about a 3-point contest?
Stephen Curry says he will return to the 3-point contest. Following Sabrina’s achievement, Stephen Curry stated that he would have to return to try and reclaim the throne from him.
He told sources: “I have to beat Sabrina’s record; she went crazy and scored 37 points on the All-Stars. So they have to save me a spot.” Curry asked if he wanted to win a golf tournament or a 3-point contest. He also stated that they have to decide who is the best shooter in the 3-point contest.
After that, “Let’s get this started,” she tweeted, adding three laughing emojis. Curry called the WNBA star’s performance “ridiculous” in a tweet Friday night.
“I was concentrating on doing one at a time,” Ionescu said after the three-point contest. “I wasn’t sure how many I missed, but I knew there weren’t many, so I’m happy to win it and grateful to the crowd.”
