The 17th season of the Indian Premier League gets underway in just two weeks as Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangaluru at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22, 2024. According to reports, CSK will defend their title this year after winning a joint record fifth IPL trophy in 2023.
They defeated the then-defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in a thrilling contest on the last ball. At present, BCCI has released the schedule of the first 21 matches of the season. The remaining schedule of the season will be announced when the dates for the Indian general elections are revealed.
When does IPL 2024 start?
The 2024 IPL match will begin on March 22, with Chennai Super Kings taking on rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

According to sports reports, IPL 2024 matches will start regularly at 7:30 PM. On doubleheader days, the first match of the day is set to start at 3:30 PM IST. The opening match between CSK and RCB will start at 8:00 PM IST.
