T10 is brutal. Jason Roy performed admirably on Tuesday night, scoring an unbeaten 57 from 33 deliveries, but his innings ultimately failed to meet the most crucial standard in short-form cricket. He didn’t have any sixes to his name.
After putting up a total of 108 for 3, Roy’s Deccan Gladiators were defeated by Chennai Brave. He scored more points than anyone else in the game, but Dan Lawrence won Player of the Match for his 40 points off 18 shots.
Roy’s knock would have been praised in almost every form of the game, but he was omitted from Wednesday’s match against Bangla Tigers.
Although he scored runs, his inability to clear the ropes once and take up more than half of the innings proved crucial. Only in this format does the batter have to hit sixes.
In the 21st match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, Deccan Gladiators defeated Bangla Tigers by ten wickets. Nicholas Pooran and Tom Kohler-Cadmore assisted the Fighters with pursuing 108 runs in 6.1 overs to take them top of the table with eight places.
In the meantime, the Tigers have lost their fourth game in a row. They remain in seventh place in the points table as a result, while Delhi Bulls remain at the bottom.
Returning to the Gladiators-Tigers matchup, the Tigers were 25-3 down after deciding to bat first. However, Joe Clarke and Iftikhar Ahmed batted well to get the team past 100 runs. Ahmed stood out with an unbeaten 54 from 21 balls, including five sixes and three fours.
The Gladiators responded by altering their starting lineup, which included Kohler-Cadmore and captain Pooran. The Gladiators cruised home with a whopping 23 deliveries remaining thanks to the duo’s 11 sixes and 6 fours combined.
