St Lucia Kings: Kuggeleijn returns to Squad for CPL 2022. Losing finalists of Last year, now have an additional overseas spot to get filled. Faf du Plessis, David Wiese, and Tim David now, already have their ranks
Scott Kuggeleijn got signed by St Lucia Kings for the upcoming season of the CPL. With this signing, there is only one spot left to get filled.
Kuggeleijn is one player who earlier played for the Kings in 2020, and remained the highest wicket-taker for that season.
In the last season, he got relieved by the franchise, along with the pair from Afghanistan: Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi.
On the other hand, Johnson Charles remained the biggest acquisition for the Kings’. Jhonson is that player who represented Barbados Royals last year and scored 216 runs from ten games. His strike rate that season was 122. Charles got an entry on board via pre-draft signing.
The other players who got retained from the islands include:
- Roston Chase
- Alzarri Joseph
- Kesrick Williams
- Mark Deyal
- Jeavor Royal
Kings now have seven spots that are yet to get filled and also including the one reserved for the overseas player. The announcement for the said position is expected to get announced soon.
The key elimination from the squad of last year are:
- Rahkeem Cornwall- This name got dropped recently from the list of centrally contracted CWI players
- Wahab Riaz – Got signed by St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
- Andre Fletcher – Got signed by St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
- Keemo Paul- He returned to Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Kings remained the runners-up, in the finals of last season after losing to the Patriots. It was a back-to-back appearance in the finals for them – Earlier they lost to Trinbago Knight Riders in the year 2020 – after they failed to bag the title round in the initial 7 editions of this tournament.
