Sri Lanka camp facing another blow with cover during Australia test. Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka was underway with a test series. The 1st test is already over and the 2nd test has hampered Sri Lanka Camp after Nissanka tested positive.
On Sunday, 10th July 2022 Nissan ka tested positive in the Antigen test. Later, the PCR test confirmed the Covid-19 diagnosis. After the diagnosis, Nissanka was immediately taken to the hotel for isolation.
He would remain in the hotel for the rest of the second test Ingalls while taking covid-19 protocols. Oshawa Fernando will replace nissanka in the XI. Nissanka just scored 6 runs during his innings in the 2nd test match before getting caught by Cameron Green. On Mitchell Starc’s delivery, he got caught in the gully.
Sri Lanka now has 5 players with Covid positive
Throughout the series with Australia, Sri Lanka now faced the 5th blow. During this test match, 5 Sri Lankan players were caught covid. Dhananjaya de Silva, Pravin Jayawickrama, Asitha Fernando, spin duo Jeffery Vandersay, and now Nissanka will be missing out on the test. Day 4 Test 2 Sri Lanka vs Australia
For Australia, Day 4 and 2nd innings started off pretty badly as Usman Khwaja, Steve Smith, and David Warner lost their wickets early. That led to Australia all out at 151 before an innings. Prabath Jayasuriya took 6 wickets while giving away 59 runs.
Earlier this Jennings Sri Lanka was 554 all out with Dinesh Chandimal scoring a double ton 206. They took 190 lead on Australia. Australia failed to chase down the total which resulted in Sri Lanka winning the second test. This win led to a series draw of 1-1. Since day 1 Sri Lanka was dominating Australia with the bat despite having players missing the test due to Covid-19.
