Sonya Deville has only wrestled a few times on television this year. Her most recent match was a six-pack challenge to see who is the best candidate for Ronda Rousey’s “WWE SmackDown” Women’s Championship on the 11/11 episode of the blue brand show.
Deville and Liv Morgan had a brief rivalry prior to that match, which culminated in a No Holds Barred match on October 28.
Deville’s most recent tweet shows that she wants to get more opportunities to show off her skills in the ring.
“I want to wrestle!” Deville tweeted late on Thursday.
Deville returned to active in-ring competition following WrestleMania 38. She began with a brief rivalry against “WWE Raw” Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and tagged with veteran superstar Natalya for several months.
Deville spent the majority of 2021 serving as an authority figure on the screen. Deville, on the other hand, has struggled to establish herself in the women’s division and has frequently been used as an enhancement talent against newly crowned champions like Belair and Morgan, particularly at WWE live events, where the usual objective is to secure victories for the babyfaces.
Similarly, Shotzi challenged Rousey for the “SmackDown” Women’s Championship at Survivor Series, but Deville lost to Shotzi multiple times at house shows in November.
Deville defeated Alba Fyre in a singles match when he made an unexpected appearance on “WWE NXT” in October as an aid to Toxic Attraction.
At the time, it was speculated that Deville had become a full-time member of the faction led by her real-life best friend Mandy Rose. However, Deville’s time on WWE’s developmental show was short-lived because she quickly returned to the blue brand and competed against Morgan in a number of matches.
If Triple H and his creative team give Deville more wrestling opportunities on television, it remains to be seen.
