Shubman Gill smashed his maiden international century against Zimbabwe on Monday (August 22). He has continued to perform fantastically well in recent months, which has recently seen him miss out on a century in the previous series against West indies.

Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and Gill are the youngest Indian batsmen who have reached overseas centuries in One Day International cricket. Yuvraj leads with 22 years and 41 days while Virat is 22 years and 315 days old. Gill is 22 years and 348 days old; right now he’s the third youngest Indian batter to score an overseas century for India in ODI cricket.
Yuvraj Singh wrote that he was happy to see Gill achieve a milestone in cricket, and he followed with many more accomplishments. Irfan Pathan took to Twitter to congratulate Gill on his achievement, saying that it was just the beginning of many 100s to come.
Gill broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the highest run in an ODI against Zimbabwe. Gill has had a great year on the international stage, scoring 450 runs in six ODIs so far with a 112.5 average and one hundred and three 50’s. Not to mention, Gill has scored one 130 in this century.
Gill came in and batted at number 3 during the 15th over of a match against Scotland. He yielded to the pressure by scoring runs at a quick pace, getting out on 130 off only 97 balls faced by Brad Evans. Gill hit 1 six and 15 boundaries during his knock and managed to score at a strike-rate of 134.00
