Shoaib Akhtar has issued a stern warning to the Indian team: “Rohit Sharma is uncomfortable; he’s shouting on the field.”
Shoaib Akhtar has issued a stern warning to the Indian team: Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, got off to a strong start in the Asia Cup 2022, but in the Super 4 round, they had a big loss. The Men in Blue lost two games in a row, the first to Pakistan by five wickets and the second to Sri Lanka by six wickets. After Pakistan beat Afghanistan in a close last over, Rohit Sharma’s team was out of the tournament, and Sri Lanka and Pakistan moved on to the final.
India’s preparation for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia later this year, has been called into serious question by the results. Many people have pointed the finger at Rohit and Virat Kohli, and Pakistan’s fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is the latest to do so.
Concerns about Rohit’s Leadership
The Rawalpindi Express did not like how Rohit led the team in the tournament, especially when he got excited during the games. He also said that Rohit needs to get better at being captain in the future.
Akhtar talked about what he thought in a video on his YouTube channel. The former Pakistan pacer made the following points about Rohit’s leadership: “Rohit Sharma looks very uncomfortable; he is seen shouting on the field. India brought in Ashwin and dropped Bishnoi, which shows there is uncertainty in the camp. This is a really good wake-up call for India, coming before the World Cup.”
The Dynamical Playing XI
India changed up their playing XI a lot over the course of the tournament. The Men in Blue started out with Dinesh Karthik as the finisher, but they had to switch to Rishabh Pant when Ravindra Jadeja got hurt and couldn’t play in the tournament. Moreover, Ravi Bishnoi, who played well in the Super 4 match against Pakistan, was taken out of the team and replaced by R Ashwin for the match against Sri Lanka.
Akhtar also talked about India’s overall campaign. He said that the Men in Blue didn’t play badly but that the game was a good wake-up call before the big tournament in Australia.“I do not think India played very poorly; they did not play well, that is a fact, but there is a rise after every fall, and this fall might help them in the World Cup. India should not be disheartened, but they should learn from this. They should find their final playing XI. Rohit Sharma has to sharpen up his captaincy as well,” he added.
