The KL Rahul-led Team India easily defeated the hosts in the first Test, winning by a massive margin of 188 runs on the last day of the contest at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
The first Test was dominated by Kuldeep Yadav, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Shubman Gill. Kuldeep got 8 wickets in the match, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings, while Pujara and Gill both scored hundreds in the second innings. The action now turns to Dhaka’s Sher-E-Bangla Stadium, where India lost the first two ODIs of their current visit to Bangladesh. However, the visitors have a strong record in the longest format at the stadium, having won both of their encounters convincingly.
Sher-E-Bangla Stadium Pitch Report
Similar to the two One-Day Internationals that were held at the Shere Bangla National Stadium a few weeks ago, the pitch at this location will once again bring spinners into play quite early. During the second Test, they will be able to extract grip, turn, and bounce, and the pitch condition is likely to only get better for them after the third day.
However, the pitch will remain flat throughout the Test, and once the batters get their eye in and spend some time at the crease, they will undoubtedly enjoy themselves.
When a Test match was last played here in May 2022, the Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan batsmen combined to score four centuries and five half-centuries in four innings.
How well the spinners from each side bowl during the Test may determine the outcome of the match.
Weather Forecast
The weather prediction for the next five days anticipates clear days with temperatures reaching a high of 30o C during the day and a low of 16o C at night. There is little fear of rain for the five days of the Test, with only a partly cloudy forecast for December 25, the fourth day.
Match Dates: December 22 to December 26
