Only 13 overs were played between Bangladesh and West Indies on Saturday as rains ruined the match. On Saturday, the match started at its usual time, but later after the 13th was over it started drizzling. However, despite the wait, the rain did not stop resulting in 1st T20 without result.

West Indies captain Nicholas Poran won the toss and decided to bowl first in Roseau. Though Bangladesh’s innings were going slow and almost over with 105/8 in 13 overs. There were delays continuously as ground staff prepared the outfield and pitch with weather disturbing the play for both teams.

Shakib’s entertaining Cameo

While other Bangladesh batsmen struggled to score against the West Indies bowling attack, Shakib Al Hasan managed to entertain the crowd.

The crowd and teams were frustrated with weather conditions disrupting the play, Shakib was a delight to watch. Shakib again showed his experience and progress in shorter innings in the first part of the play.

Shakib Al Hasan came to bat when the wicket of Munim Shahriar (2) fell to Akel Hosein. Shakib wasted no time to show his intent for the match.

He smashed the leg spinner, Hayden Walsh in the stands with entertaining 29 runs in 15 balls. However, they say who had the last laugh, Hayden Walsh had his final say when he tempted Shakib to play. He was stumped by Devon Thomas. Walsh got Shakib out, while Romario Shepherd had the best bowling stats in the match with 3 wickets and 3/21.

Shepherd was able to impress with his bowling

The right-arm pacer had an impactful innings with 3/21. His variations in bowling attacks continued to confuse Bangladesh batsmen which led to back-to-back falls of wickets. He dismissed Liton Das(9), and Mahmudullah(8) with exceptionally slower deliveries. While he found the outside edge of Mahedi Hasan and later rain collapsed the match with no result.
