September nominees for the ICC Player of the Month: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Axar Patel. Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Axar Patel from India were nominated for the ICC “Player of the Month” award for September. Skipper Kaur and vice-captain Mandhana have been nominated for the first time. If either of them wins, they will be the first Indian players to win the Women’s Player of the Month award. This is because both of them played very well in the ODI and T20I series in England.
Axar, on the other hand, has been nominated for the men’s Player of the Month for bowling. This happened after a series of strong bowling performances against Australia and South Africa.
Kaur’s Form
Even though she had a bad T20I series in England at the beginning of the month, Kaur was in great shape for the ODI series that followed. She scored 221 runs over the course of the three matches.
In the first match, she led her team to victory with a controlled 74 not out. In the second match, she helped her team win the series in style by hitting an unbeaten 143. This was the first time her team had won an ODI series in England since 1999.
Mandhana’s Rise
Mandhana also did a great job during her time in England in September. She is one of India’s best batters, with many fans of her skills. Smriti also won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year last year.
She scored well in both white-ball series, with her unbeaten scores of 79 in the first T20I in Derby and 91 in the first ODI in Canterbury being the best. Both of these scores helped her team win the games.
Mandhana also finished the month with an average of over 50 in both formats and a strike rate of 137 in T20Is, which shows just how well she did during the month.
Axar’s Supremacy
Axar is one of India’s best bowlers, and he had a great September, which got him his first nomination for Player of the Month. He took nine wickets with an average of 11.44 and an excellent economy rate of just 5.72. He did incredibly well in the home series vs. Australia, where he took 3/17 (Mohali), 2/13 (Nagpur), and 3/33 (Hyderabad). He has proved that he is a key asset for India in the shorter format.
