An unidentified Saudi Arabian club is expected to compete with Barcelona and Inter Milan for Liverpool’s out-of-contract striker Roberto Firmino at Mrsool Park. At the end of the season, the Brazilian will become an unrestricted free agent.
After eight years with the Reds, Firmino has made the decision to leave Anfield. In the summer, he will be available for free transfer, and several clubs are interested. Football Insider claims that Barcelona and Inter Milan have expressed an interest in the seasoned frontman.
Since Robert Lewandowski has largely been responsible for scoring goals this season, Barcelona could benefit from having more options in the attack. In 31 games, the Pole has scored 25 goals. In the meantime, because Romelu Lukaku’s loan ends at the end of the season, Inter may need to replace him. He will most likely return to Chelsea, his former team.
However, Firmino’s interest is not limited to the two major European teams. The Brazilian is also being considered for a lucrative contract offer by an unidentified Saudi club. The Saudi Pro League wants to bring some of the best players in European football to the Middle East.
The Liverpool frontman may follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, his former Premier League counterpart. After leaving Manchester United in November, the legendary Portuguese player joined Al Nassr. He is said to make £178 million a year.
Even though he hasn’t been a regular starter, Firmino has had a great season at Anfield. In 27 games, he has contributed five assists and scored 10 goals. Any Saudi team that is considering signing the Brazilian would almost certainly use him as a protagonist.
Alberto Moleiro, a target for Barcelona, was targeted by Liverpool.
Moleiro, a midfielder for Las Palmas, has been linked to Barcelona. The 19-year-old Spanish player has drawn comparisons to Pedri of the Blaugrana. He has eight assists in 29 league games, making him one of La Liga 2’s brightest prospects.
However, Moleiro’s move appears to be blocked by Barca’s financial constraints. Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, has advised the Catalan giants that they must reduce their wage bill by €200 million. As per Mundo Deportivo, this might permit Liverpool to plunge in for the Spaniard.
They and Chief Association rival Aston Manor are both able to pay €25 million for the midfielder. This is the same amount Barcelona paid Las Palmas last summer.
In an unpredictable season, Liverpool wants to strengthen their midfield. The careers of players like Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and James Milner are entering their final stages.
