Salman Butt says of Pakistan’s opening batter for the third Test against Australia
Salman Butt, former Pakistan captain believes the Asian squad should consider signing 21-year-old opening batter Saim Ayub.
In the third and final Test of the present series against Australia, he believes the teenager should take over for Imam-ul-Haq.
Australia won the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground by 79 runs, taking a 2-0 advantage in the three-match series.
In the fourth inning, the Men in Green were powerless to chase down a 317-run aim. Imam battled in both innings, ending with 10 and 12 points.
Salman Butt said of the southpaw’s batting exploits, “He doesn’t have any offensive shots in his arsenal.” The cricketer-turned-expert remarked in his latest YouTube video.

Shan Masood, Pakistan’s leading hitter in the run chase, scored 60 runs off 71 balls. Salman Butt believes that the batter must convert his half-centuries into huge totals.
“Everyone talks about Ben Stokes, but it is Pat Cummins who has done wonders”
Salman Butt hailed Australia captain Pat Cummins, saying the bowler has done a fantastic job guiding the team.
Cummins, he said, has never shied away from accepting responsibility and has helped his squad achieve enormous success across formats.
It’s worth noting that Australia won the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup earlier this year under Cummins’ guidance.
The third and final Test between AUS and PAK will begin on January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
