Salman Butt named to India’s Test team for the South Africa series
Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt feels that left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh would have been a better pick for India’s current two-match Test series against South Africa.
In the recent Boxing Day Test, which India lost by an innings and 32 runs, India’s bowling looked lifeless.
In response to the Men in Blue’s 245-run first-inning total, the Proteas scored an amazing 408. Butt believes that Arshdeep would have had a greater influence than Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur.
Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna ended with 5.30 and 4.70 economy rates, respectively. The two seamers each took one wicket.
Arshdeep Singh, on the other side, looked fantastic in India’s three-match ODI series against South Africa. He took 10 wickets in three innings and was awarded Player of the Series.
“I am sure he is over the World Cup final loss” – On Rohit Sharma, Salman Butt
Salman Butt went on to claim that it would be incorrect to assume that Team India captain Rohit Sharma has yet to recuperate from the team’s 2023 World Cup final loss to Australia.
India dominated the ICC tournament, entering the final with a 10-match winning streak. Their juggernaut, however, came to a halt in the summit battle.
