To switch from the Premier League to the Saudi Pro League, Allan Saint-Maximin has become the latest player after leaving Newcastle to join Al-Ahli on a four-year contract.
Saint-Maximin will team up with ex-Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, ex-Manchester City player Riyad Mahrez and ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy at Al-Ahli as the influx of big names in Saudi Arabia shows no sign of abating decrease.
Although Saint-Maximin, for the Magpies, has scored 13 goals in 124 appearances, in recent seasons, the winger has struggled with injuries. The deal to sell Saint-Maximin has been criticized as both Newcastle and Al-Ahli are majority owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.
What to know more?
However, for his contribution to the club and community, everyone at Newcastle United thanks Allan and wishes him the best of luck for the next chapter of his career.
According to reports, former Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who is now at Bayern Munich, will also undergo a medical at another Saudi club, Al-Nassr, on Monday. Therefore, the 31-year-old Senegalese striker is said to have agreed a fee with Al-Nassar.
After announcing his squad for a pre-season friendly match with Japanese team Kawasaki Frontale, Bayern tweeted: “Sadio Mane is in contract talks ahead of a possible transfer and is therefore not in today’s squad.”
