In March 2023, the renowned cricketer bought 5 crore, or 4.3 lakh shares at 114.10 apiece, in a defense equipment producer firm.
The value of 5 crore increased to almost 31.55 crore. The valuation increased dramatically when the firm was listed on the stock market on Thursday, December 28.
According to DNA, Azad Engineering’s shares rose 29.21 percent to 677.10 per share, with the Hyderabad-based company’s market worth exceeding 4000 crore.
The National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange transacted 1.51 crore and 7.80 lakh shares, respectively.
Tendulkar’s profit margin has already surpassed Mitchell Starc’s, who just became the most expensive player in Indian Premier League history.
The Kolkata Knight Riders franchise paid $24.7 million for the seasoned Australian bowler.
Other renowned athletes who made investments in Azad Engineering include VVS Laxman, PV Sindhu, and Saina Nehwal.
The company’s products are sold to global OEMs, or original equipment manufacturers, in the defense, aerospace, and oil and gas industries.
Tendulkar has been a mentor to the Mumbai Indians for several years. His net worth is expected to be approximately 1350 crore in 2023.
