Tendulkar responded to the surprising batting failures on Day 1 of the Cape Town Test with a creative message on his official X feed. What did I miss?
India’s finest performer was pacer Mohammed Siraj, who recorded career-best Test figures of 6/15 in nine overs. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Nandre Burger all took three wickets in India’s opening innings for South Africa.
Siraj suffered in the Centurion Test, which India lost by an innings and 32 runs. He took 2/91 as South Africa scored 408 runs in their first innings. The bowler agreed that he wasn’t at his best in the first Test and expressed a desire to make apologies.
While Siraj grabbed six wickets in South Africa’s first innings, Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar both contributed with two.
