Sabbhy Meaghan : Everything you need to know
Sabbhy Meaghan is a multi talented player and has been named in India’s World Cup 2022 squad. With the U-19 team and State teams, she has represented the Indian cricket team many times.
Having proved herself at the U-23 level in tournaments, Meghana was selected for the senior CCA camp. She had the second highest run score and subsequently made her debut against West Indies, scoring 98 runs in November 2016.
Sabbhineni has played in 6 T20I matches for the Indian team. She was unable to convert her good starts into a big one, which was the reason for her being dropped from the Indian team.
Meghana is the top run-getter in Women’s Senior One Day Trophy 2021, playing 6 matches and notching up 388 runs. Mithali Raj was captain of the Railways side. In Women’s Senior Challengers One Day Trophy 2021, Meghana earned a national call-up for the second time with her performances earning her attention from selectors to be a regular member of India’s women’s team.
Sabbhineni Meghana played for the U -23U19, U 16 teams from 2008 to 2016. Throughout her senior career as well, she played for the Indian Railways team. However, in 2017 when she debuted at the India level, Meghana started playing for Indian Railways. After a successful domestic performance in 2018, she was chosen as a standby player for the World Cup 2022 squad.
