SA20 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings Following Durban’s Super Giants against Pretoria Capitals, Match 10
On Thursday, January 18, the Pretoria Capitals and the Durban Super Giants faced off in match 10 of the SA20 2024 tournament.
The Capitals versus Giants game was held at Supersport Park and was one of the highest-scoring games of the season thus far.
As the season progresses, various changes to the points table were seen at the end of the tenth match.
The Super Giants suffered their first loss of the season after four outings.
Three consecutive victories followed by a setback kept them in second position on the points standings. They have a net run rate of 0.863 and 13 points.
Notably, the table-toppers Paarl Royals have the same amount of points as Keshav Maharaj and colleagues, but a little higher NRR puts them ahead.
On the other side, the Capitals’ first win of the season has moved them to fifth position, with an NRR of -0.333 and four points.

The Capitals won the toss and chose to bat, which proved beneficial to them. They scored 204/9 on the scoreboard.
The Super Giants’ bowlers were able to collect wickets, but they were unable to stop the run flow. Reece Topley was the team’s highest wicket-taker, with three wickets.
Although Topley dismissed opener Phil Salt for 23, opening partner Will Jacks scored 101 off 42 balls. Colin Ingram’s 43 also helped him pass the 200-run milestone.
The Super Giants had a somewhat slow start. While the scenario called for at least two players to hit fifty, the openers faltered early on.
Matthew Breetzke scored 33 points, while Kyle Mayers failed to reach 11. With ordinary performances from the other batsmen, the club managed just 187, losing by 17 runs due to James Neesham’s last over under pressure.
Will and Eathan Bosch both contributed significantly with frugal periods, surrendering 18 runs in three overs apiece.
The Capitals won their first game of the season, while the Super Giants suffered their first loss.
