SAM CURRAN
The English all-rounder was purchased by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 auction for a record amount of INR 18.5 crore, making him the most expensive player in the tournament’s history. Sam Curran will play for MI Cape Town in the SA20, with Olly Stone, Jofra Archer, and Kagiso Rabada supporting him in the speed department.
Curran won the ICC Player of the Tournament award during England’s T20 World Cup victory. In the final against Pakistan, he picked three times for 12, winning Player of the Match. The 24-year-old took the most wickets for England at the T20 World Cup, taking 13 in just six matches at an economy rate of 6.52. Curran boasts a strike rate of over 135 in T20 cricket, despite the fact that his batsmanship was not put to the test during the tournament. He was a force to be reckoned with in the PowerPlay and death overs.
Harry Brook
A flamboyant batter, was another Englishman who made a lot of money in the IPL 2023 auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad recruited him for INR 13.25 million. When Brook plays for the Joburg Super Kings, led by stylish batsman Faf du Plessis, he will hope to repay the trust. It’s interesting to note that Brook hasn’t quite settled into white-ball international cricket yet; however, his impressive performance in the Test series against Pakistan turned heads. He finished the series with the most runs, scoring 468 runs in three matches with a remarkable middle-order strike rate of 93.41.
JOSHUA LITTLE
The left-arm pacer was acquired by the defending champion Gujarat Titans for INR 4.4 crore, making him the first player from Ireland to be selected in the IPL auction. With a hat trick that included the wickets of Kane Williamson, James Neesham, and Mitchell Santner, Joshua Little stunned New Zealand at the T20 World Cup in Australia. He took 11 wickets at a respectable economy rate of 7.00 at the tournament’s conclusion. Little’s pace battery of Pretoria Capitals will include captain Wayne Parnell and Anrich Nortje in the SA20.
JASON HOLDER
The seasoned West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder will play for the Durban Super Giants, a team that has a lot of all-rounders, like Kyle Mayers and Keemo Paul. Holder was signed by Rajasthan Royals for INR 5.75 crore in December after being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The former captain of the West Indies uses the ball sparingly in PowerPlay and middle overs, and while he is a reliable bat, his ability with the willow hasn’t been fully utilized yet.
RILEE ROSSOUW
a batsman for South Africa, made a comeback to international cricket in 2022 after more than six years off. In just his second innings after the comeback, he defeated England with an unbeaten 96 runs off 55 balls. In South Africa’s T20 World Cup campaign opener, Rilee Rossouw scored 109 off 56 balls against Bangladesh and scored another unbeaten century against India. The left-hander is coming off a rough stretch in the ongoing Big Bash League, where he allowed just one fifty in seven innings. However, he will be hoping to return to his explosive best for the Pretoria Capitals, who are bolstered in the batting department by Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Kusal Mendis.
