The St George’s Park Cricket Ground in Gqeberha (previously Port Elizabeth), South Africa, is one of the country’s most recognisable cricket venues. It is the home of the Port Elizabeth Cricket Club, one of the oldest clubs in South Africa. The stadium is host to the Western Province Cricket Club, as well as other first-class matches throughout the year.
The first Test was played at the site in March 1889, when England defeated South Africa by 8 wickets. It was South Africa’s first Test match. Since 2005, the stadium has hosted 21 Tests, with South Africa winning eight, their opponents nine, and four draws.
