Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid ensured increased security and freedom for players: Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya, a premier Indian all-rounder, has praised Indian captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid for allowing players to go and express themselves. According to Hardik, Rohit and Dravid deserve a lot of credit for bringing the squad together and ensuring that a lot of good thinking comes in and players feel confident.
Hardik Pandya, a star Indian all-rounder, has praised Rohit Sharma’s leadership approach, saying that he has given the players the security and freedom to go out there in the middle and express themselves. Rohit, a 28-year-old cricketer, wants the team to abandon what it has been doing for the previous five to six years and do what the players believe is correct.
“Ro (Rohit Sharma) offers you a lot of liberty and freedom,” Pandya remarked.
“A lot of credit goes to him and Rahul Dravid for bringing the team together and ensuring a lot of positive mindset comes in and players feel secure; they are not looking over their shoulders and making sure they are getting ample chances; they are also being told if they are not playing, which is commendable.”
In the third Twenty20 International on Tuesday, India chased down a record total of 165 runs against the West Indies. It was the first time in St. Louis that more than 150 runs were successfully pursued down. Kitts and Hardik credited India’s triumph to the captain and head coach, stating they allowed players the freedom to do anything they wanted.
“Again, credit goes to Ro and the coach. We were all discussing how we should handle the sluggish wicket. Do we still want to play in this manner?” Pandya stated.
“He gave us the green light, stating, “Forget about the outcomes; we’re trying something new, we’re going to make errors, and we’re going to learn from it.” But we’re going to abandon what we’ve been doing for the past five to six years and make sure that we try everything and all the choices that are there, so that when it comes to the World Cup, we’ll know how to play.”
Pandya has played some cricket under Rohit’s guidance. From 2015 to 2021, he was a member of the Mumbai Indians organization, where he guided the team to four titles.
