Rohit Sharma aimed at the referees and the grades given to some of the pitches in the 2023 World Cup, which will be held in India.
Rohit Sharma has chastised the ICC and match officials for what he regards as double standards in pitch assessment.
After winning the shortest Test in history, courtesy of a lottery pitch stacked too heavily in favor of seam bowlers, Rohit was caustic about the defamation directed at Indian wickets that don’t go the distance.
“I mean, we saw what happened in this game, how the pitch played, and all that,” Rohit explained. “I don’t mind playing on pitches like these at all.
As long as everyone in India keeps their mouth shut and doesn’t talk too much about Indian pitches.
Because you came here to test yourself. Yes, it is risky. It is difficult. So, then when people come to India, it’s much more difficult.
When you come here to play Test cricket, we speak about Test cricket being the ultimate prize, Test cricket being the pinnacle, and other such nonsense. I believe it is critical that we also stick to it.

Rohit Sharma – That’s what occurs in India, but if the pitch starts changing on day one, people start complaining about ‘Puff of dust!’
Rohit picked criticized the officials and some of the grades given to pitches during last year’s World Cup in India.
Rohit believes we must remain neutral wherever we go. Especially the match officials.
Some of these match officials, you know, need to keep a watch on how they grade pitches. It’s crucial.
I still can’t believe the World Cup final pitch was graded that poor. In the final, a batsman scored a century.
How is that a bad pitch? So these are the issues that the ICC and match officials need to investigate and begin evaluating pitches based on what they see rather than the countries. That, I believe, is critical.
So I hope they keep their ears and eyes open and investigate those components of the game.
To be honest, I love pitches like these. We want to test ourselves by playing on pitches like these.
We take delight in playing on fields like these. But all I want to say is to remain neutral.
