BCCI sources have verified that Rishabh Pant underwent a successful knee ligament procedure on Friday at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Rishabh Pant underwent successful knee ligament surgery on Friday. He’ll be watched closely.
The BCCI sports science and medical team will follow Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala’s recommendations for further courses of action and rehabilitation “A BCCI source was quoted by PTI as saying. Pant was evacuated from Dehradun to Mumbai on Wednesday to have treatment for one of the two ligament injuries in his knee.
Doctors examined him as soon as he arrived at the hospital in Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and other sportsmen were treated by Dr. Pardiwala, who is also the hospital’s director of arthroscopy and shoulder services.
Although Pant’s injuries were treated promptly at the two hospitals in Uttarakhand, the BCCI decided to have its own medical experts handle the situation. Pant’s health insurance will cover his medical expenses, but the board paid for the air ambulance.
Around 5.30 am on December 30, Pant’s automobile collided with a road barrier as he travelled to meet his mother in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Despite the fact that his automobile was on fire, he somehow avoided serious injury.
Pant was transported from Saksham Hospital in Roorkee, where he received rapid emergency care, to Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he had cosmetic surgery for his laceration wounds, face injuries, and abrasions.
His brain and spine MRI tests that evening came back normal, but the knee and foot scans had to be delayed due to discomfort and swelling. When Pant can resume physical activity and then first-class cricket is still too soon to predict.
He hasn’t started to walk yet. The four home Test matches against Australia in February and March, the likely World Test Championship final in England in June, and the ODI World Cup in India in October and November are India’s three biggest commitments in 2023.
Pant appears to have little chance of playing in the Test series against Australia, though it can’t be totally ruled out. The second important competition will be the IPL, which Pant will captain Delhi Capitals in.
