Chelsea has supposedly settled on a choice in regard to the fate of Romelu Lukaku following his fruitless credit spell with Entomb Milan. Following the announcement made by Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta, the Belgian international appears to be headed back to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The former Manchester United player’s return to Chelsea this summer has been confirmed by Marotta. During his time on loan with the Nerazzurri, the striker has not performed to his full potential. As cited by The Everyday Star, he said:
“I want to emphasize that it was only for one season, so he will return to Chelsea. In the case of Lukaku, the most important aspects of his game are his physicality and fitness. He is not 100%, and he is not yet the same Lukaku we saw last year.”
However, the Blues, as reported by 90Min, have absolutely no intention of including Lukaku in their team for the upcoming season. It is believed that the team in west London wants to send him back to Inter Milan for a second loan period. Despite his disappointing season at the San Siro, the Serie A giants will be delighted to have the Belgian back at the club.
However, it is thought that they are seeking deals with lower financial commitments. In order to return to Inter on loan, Lukaku is said to be willing to postpone some of his wages because he is concerned about losing his place at Chelsea.
This time around, the Belgian international has had a forgettable season with Inter, scoring just five goals in 18 games. He has been plagued by injuries this season, missing 21 games due to hamstring and knee injuries.
The Chelsea and Liverpool-linked defender is praised by Owen Hargreaves:
Owen Hargreaves, a former midfielder for Manchester United, is of the opinion that Josko Gvardiol, who is wanted by Liverpool and Chelsea, has the potential to become the best center-back in the world.
Guardiola was a member of the RB Leipzig team that lost 7-0 to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night (March 15). Despite the humiliating defeat his team suffered, Hargreaves believes the Croatian international will one day be the best defender in the world. He started to BT Sport:
“I think the boys said it: before, there were three top-tier center backs in the studio. I believe that Gvardiol is the absolute best. He will, in my opinion, one day be the best center back in the world. He has gained a lot of knowledge today, and he probably wouldn’t mind playing against this team.
Gvardiol has been linked to a number of clubs, including Liverpool, making him one of the most sought-after young players in international football.
