Reema Malhotra on Australia’s batting errors in India’s second Twenty20 International. Reema Malhotra has identified one of India’s main batting department problems as Harmanpreet Kaur’s dismal recent results.
On Sunday, January 7, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the Women in Blue gave the Australian women a target of 131 runs in the second Twenty20 International. Harmanpreet scored six runs off of 12 deliveries. With six wickets remaining in the three-match series, Alyssa Healy and her team managed to even the score by chasing down the unsatisfactory goal.

Reema Malhotra on Australia’s batting errors
When asked about the batting errors made by India, Malhotra said, “Batters got starts, but nobody of them guaranteed that they remained at one end and scored a big score.” I was impressed by Smriti Mandhana’s batting style; it seemed like she was in fantastic form after a lengthy absence. She might have extended that knock, but it was brief and pleasant.”
Although Harmanpreet Kaur’s opening partnership didn’t work out, it is concerning that her bat has been quiet. The ball goes into the air when you get the top edge, but Harmanpreet Kaur typically plays the sweep stroke.”
Ellyse Perry caught Harmanpreet off the bowling of Ashleigh Gardner at deep square leg. For the past five innings in all forms combined, the Indian captain has failed to score more than ten runs.
Reema Malhotra brought up the notion that other batters must make up for Harmanpreet Kaur and Amanjot Kaur’s poor performance. She went on to say: “I’m sure Amol Muzumdar is going to talk on it, and when a batter gets set, she must make sure that she performs a big hit because Harmanpreet Kaur’s bat is not burning and Amanjot Kaur isn’t doing something special in the middle.”
Malhotra asserted that poor shot choice contributed to India’s defeat. She observed that even though Pooja Vastrakar plays well down the ground, she opted for a reverse sweep, whereas Richa Ghosh played a nothing shot, playing a complete delivery from the back foot.
