Arabia’s Al Hilal 5-3 in the final on Saturday to win the Club World Cup for a record-extending fifth time.
At the Prince Moulay Abdallah stadium, the game was largely even, and Real never looked like giving up control despite letting their opponents score three times, including two goals from Luciano Vietto.
The European Champions scored the first game goal in the 13th minute, delighting the raucous Moroccan crowd with a flurry of goals.
Vinicius ghosted in behind the defense to score from close range after Benzema passed the ball to Valverde.
Five minutes later, on the rebound, Valverde increased Real’s lead, but Al Hilal responded with a goal from Moussa Marega on the counterattack.
Marega and Vietto caused trouble one-on-one against Antonio Rudiger and Eduardo Camavinga, who played as an improvised left-back once again, as Real controlled the pace and had nearly 70% possession.
However, they were repeatedly exposed in defense. After the break, Vinicius took center stage. The Brazilian showed off his skills against the shaky Al Hilal defense and had the crowd on their feet every time he ran down the left channel.
In the 54th minute, he brilliantly crossed with the outside of his boot to set up Benzema for Real’s third goal, and Valverde doubled Real’s lead from close range.
Five minutes later, Al Hilal’s Vietto scored again from a counter, reducing the deficit, but Vinicius scored again for Real in the 69th with a neat finish after playing the ball through a defender’s legs.
Ten minutes later, Vietto scored his second of the night to cap off a high-scoring game that delighted Moroccan fans.
