After getting the Man of Match award he said,
“Success for me was to maintain the intensity. When I went to the crease, I knew I had to put pressure on their spinners with my sweeps and river sweeps. Their partnership become a blessing for the host and they give 296 targets to the Indian team, which India lost by 31 runs.
Rassie van der Dussen gave a statement on Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan
South Africa make 296 runs by losing 4 wickets and team India make 265 runs by losing 8 wickets and in this Men in blue lost their 1st ODI match.
In team India KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan came as opener and Dhawan prove themself he make 79 runs, Rahul make 12 runs.
After that its time of former captain Virat Kohli he complete his half-century and make 51 runs, Rishabh Pant also remain flop in this match,
Dussen give a statement on Virat and Shikhar and said,
“But, you need to stand out as a batsman. We knew that if we score 280+ we will be in a good position in this match. As long as there were Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli at the crease, they were putting us under pressure. As soon as we got those two wickets, we knew the new batsman would need a foothold. The last 10 overs were not good, hope we can do better in the future. We are on a long journey with this team. We worked very hard and had a lot of good conversations. I think it’s coming.”
