The excitement of the final in Ranji continues. Sometimes MP is taking the upper hand and sometimes Mumbai. Both the teams are fighting to turn the game on their side. Madhya Pradesh is showing a strong comeback on the third day of the five-day match. In the first innings after lunch on Friday, Madhya Pradesh scored 250 runs for the loss of one wicket till the writing of the news.
Openers Yash Dubey (109 *) and the number 3 batsman Shubham Sharma (100 *) have scored centuries for their team. This is now the partnership of unbeaten 203 runs for the second wicket between the two. However, the MP is still behind by 124 runs.
Mumbai vs MP: Match update
Madhya Pradesh started the day with a score of 123/1. Yash Dubey made 44 and Shubham Sharma add 41 runs further to his personal score. Earlier the only wicket of Himanshu Mantri was out LBW off Tushar Deshpande’s delivery for 31 runs.
The day-2 of the match was in the name of Mumbai. On his behalf, Sarfaraz Khan made a comeback for his team by scoring a century. He brought his team’s score to 374 runs. Sarfaraz played a magnificent inning of 134 runs. Sarfaraz faced 243 balls in his century innings. This hit 13 fours and 2 sixes.
Sarfaraz Khan 24, has scored the 8th- ton of his first-class career. Earlier In the last 14 first-class innings, he has scored one triple century, two double centuries, four centuries, and three half-centuries.
On the second day, the bowlers of MP also maintained the pressure. They did not allow Sarfaraz Khan to play freely. Gaurav Yadav took four wickets for MP. Anubhav Agarwal contributed with three wickets. Sarshan Jain got succeeded to take two and Kumar Karthikeya took one wicket in the first inning.
Opener Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave Mumbai a good start in the first inning. Both batters added 87 runs for the first wicket. Prithvi Shaw was bowled out by medium-pacer Anubhav Agarwal after hitting 5 fours and six off 79 balls. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal along with Armaan Jaffer took Mumbai past 100 runs.
