Ramesh Mendis Age, Height, Stats, Teams: After going through a difficult period, young players are enabling Sri Lankan cricket to climb back up the rankings, and Ramesh Mendis is one of the young promising cricketers who is contributing to this ascent.
Mendis was born on July 7th, 1995 and he is originally from the town of Ambalangoda. The all-rounder made his professional debut with Kandy during the 2017-2018 season.
As a result of his performance in the Premier League Tournament (18-19), where he exhibited his versatility, he was thrust into the public eye. Mendis finished the competition with 612 runs and 30 wickets for Motor Sports Club, making him the highest run-scorer and wicket-taker for the team. Mendis played in just nine of the competition’s matches.
Mendis was given a call-up to the national team in February of this year after being recognised for his steady play in a local competition. His debut with the national team took place in February. After that, he was a member of the national team that competed in the Twenty20 World Cup.
Stats
Ramesh Mendis has competed for Sri Lanka in a total of three Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
On the other hand, one cannot judge him just on the statistics from a couple of games. There is no question about his ability, and we can only anticipate that his stats will continue to rise. He has only played in eight international matches so far and has only scored 83 runs.
His bowling stats are stronger than his batting figures, but because he has played in a smaller number of matches, his overall statistics may not look very impressive. However, his numbers will steadily increase as he plays more matches in the future. He has taken eight wickets in three Test matches, two wickets in one-day internationals, and one wicket in twenty-over matches.
