Punjab Youth Affairs Ministry to build Sports Medicine Centre: The ground was broken for the opening of Pakistan’s first ever Sports Medicine Centre on Friday. Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood performed the ceremony.
Coaching, Chief Secretary Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, The director of the youth affairs, Deputy Directors Tariq Wattoo and Rauf Bajwa and Assistant Director Zahoor Ahmed were present on this occasion.
Prof Kamran Butt and Assistant Professor Orthopedic Dr Amir Sohail, and other medical experts attended the ceremony. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi spoke about different features, functions and services of Sport Medicine Centre in their thorough briefing to Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood.
Multiple therapies and services related to Sports Ultrasound, Isokinetic Strength Testing, Sports Physiotherapy, Sports Surgery, Exercise Physiology, Sports Biomechanic, Sports Radiology and Sports Nutrition will be provided to athletes at the Sport Medicine Centre. Talking to media on this occasion, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said that the ground breaking ceremony of Pakistan’s first-ever Sport Medicine Centre is great news especially for athletes.
The Sports Medicine Centre of Pakistan, to be launched today, will offer top athletes from different sports the best medical care and preventative healthcare in an attempt to make the country stronger. Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood said the basic purpose of the Sports Medicine Centre is to provide best health facilities to Pakistan’s top athletes.
A new Pakistan government health initiative will ensure athletes are in the best shape possible to compete internationally.
Sports Medicine Centre will offer the best health care for players from across Pakistan. It will be the first-ever such facility in the country and has a special focus on men and women athletes, especially those who have incurred injury during Games. From experts to sports medical facilities, Sports Medicine Clinic is going to make athletes out of Pakistani sporting enthusiasts as well.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ali Jan Khan visited different sports venues at NPSC, as part of inspection tour, on Friday. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ali Jan Khan was accompanied by Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director Admin Syed Omair Hasan, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo and Assistant Director Zahoor Ahmed during the inspection visit.
