Pune And Pimpri Chinchwad Police Sports Competition Conducted on 29th August, 241 Players Participate: Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune is the northwestern city limits of the city of Pune, India. Geographically, Pimpri Chinchwad is located at an altitude 590 meters (1,940 feet) above sea level. Pimpri Chinchwad is at a distance of about 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of its historic center. There are many automotive, IT and manufacturing industries in the neighborhood.
Pune, 29th August 2022: The 38th Sports Competition under the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate took place on the 29th of August 2022. 241 athletes came forward to participate in the competition.
Praveen Kumar, the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, felicitated the winners at Shivajinagar Police Headquarters. Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde, Additional Commissioner Namdev Chavan, Additional Commissioner Jalinder Supekar, Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, Additional Commissioner Ramnath Pokle, and Additional Commissioner Rajendra Dahale graced the occasion with their presence.
Four teams from Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, including East, West Division, Headquarters and Branch, took an active participation in the competition.
A tug-of-war competition took place between the police officers and invitees. The 100 m race was organized for men and women. Police officers emerged victorious. Mahesh Awale grabbed the first place. Govind Kolekar stood in the second position in the 100m Run (Men) category. Among women, Sneha Dhuri grabbed the first place. Surekha Thackeray held the second place.
In athletics, female police officer Sneha Dhuri from Crime Branch won the best female athlete award. Police Commissioner Ali Shaikh from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissionerate won the best athlete award in athletics.
Praveen Kumar said that such competitions are important for fitness. The program was monitored by API Vikram Misal, Sub-Inspector Supriya Pandharkar, and Ekta Kapur. Police Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Ankush Shinde gave away the vote of thanks.
