Anjum Moudgil, an athlete from India, took home silver in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions competition at the season-ending ISSF President’s Cup on Saturday in Cairo, Egypt. She was also named the second-best athlete in the sport for the year in this category.

Anjum lost to German Anna Janssen 14-16 in the gold medal match while shooting at the Egypt International Olympic City (EIOC) range.
Following Rudranksh Balasaheb Patil’s victory in the men’s 10m air rifle category on Friday, India earned a second medal in the competition with this one.
Anjum achieved a new record for the women’s 3P on Thursday when she shot 591 in qualification to place fourth and advance to the ranking round.
The Indian rifle ace won the eight-person competition on Saturday with a powerful 412.9, finishing well ahead of Anna, who scored 411.1 to place second and face Anjum for the crown.
Nina Christen, the current Olympic champion from Switzerland, was one among those left behind as she placed fifth with a score of 354.3.
In the end, both shooters put forth a valiant effort and tied at 14 points apiece in their race to achieve 16 points first.
Anjum had a chance to win big when Anna hit a 9.9 on her last try, but an 8.8 dashed all of her aspirations.
While attending Chandigarh’s Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Anjum started shooting. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in humanities from DAV College in Chandigarh. She earned a master’s degree in sports psychology. She enjoys creating abstract art and has sold a lot of her pieces.
She joined the Punjab Police in India as a Sub Inspector (SI).
While attending the Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh, Anjum started photography. At Chandigarh’s DAV College, she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in humanities. In sports psychology, she earned her master’s degree. She is an accomplished abstract painter who has sold several of her works.
With India’s Punjab Police, she was promoted to Sub Inspector (SI).
