Predicting the top three run scorers in WPL 2024 ft. Natalie Sciver-Brunt
The second edition of the Women’s Premier League, WPL 2024, will run from February 23 to March 17.
The tournament will begin with a match between previous year’s finalists, the Mumbai Indians, and the Delhi Capitals Women, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Last year’s summit game saw Mumbai defeat Delhi by seven wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
WPL 2024 will be held at two locations: Bengaluru and Delhi. The T20 league will have 22 matches, including the eliminator and final.
The first 11 matches of the event will be held in Bengaluru, while the remaining 11, including the knockout rounds, will be played in the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Last year’s T20 competition saw some amazing batting efforts.
On that point, here are our predictions for the top three run scorers in the WPL 2024. Predicting the top three run scorers in WPL 2024 ft. Natalie Sciver-Brunt
3. Smriti Mandhana
Smriti Mandhana, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), had high aspirations for the inaugural WPL season.
However, she failed to meet the expectations. The strain appeared to have taken its toll on her, and the fact that the squad was struggling didn’t help.
In eight innings, she only scored 149 runs at an average of 18.62 and a strike rate of 111.19, with a high of 37.
Mandhana had a terrible season last year, but she is too brilliant a player to repeat it.
The veteran Indian opener has played in 128 T20Is for the Women in Blue, scoring over 3,000 runs at an average of 27.46 and a strike rate of 121.53, including 23 half-centuries.
Expect the graceful left-hander to be among the leading run scorers in the 2024 Women’s Premier League. Fans would be quite disappointed if this were not the truth.

2. Beth Mooney
Beth Mooney, an Australian opener, has been named captain of the Gujarat Giants for the 2023 WPL season.
However, her season ended in the first match when she suffered a calf injury after only three balls as an opener in the chase against the Mumbai Indians.
Sneh Rana was later chosen captain, although he had little influence as the Gujarat Giants struggled in their first season. They finished last, with two wins and six losses in eight games.
Mooney is back this season and ready to make a major impression. The 30-year-old has an excellent record in T20Is for Australia.
In 95 matches, she has scored 2,764 runs at an average of 41.25 and a strike rate of 123.50, with two hundreds and 22 fifties.
Mooney was particularly impressive in the T20I series against South Africa, scoring 72* off 57 in the first game in Canberra and 82 off 55 in the third game in Hobart.
The seasoned keeper-batter will be eager to continue his impressive form into the WPL 2024 season.
1. Nat Sciver-Brunt
Nat Sciver-Brunt, England’s seasoned all-rounder, was the second-highest run-scorer in the WPL 2023, trailing only Meg Lanning.
In ten innings for the Mumbai Indians, she scored 332 runs at an average of 66.40 and a strike rate of 140.08.
She hit as many as three half-centuries, with a high of 72* from 38 balls against UP Warriors.
With Lanning’s retirement from international cricket, she may need some time to find her groove in the World Premier League.
Sciver-Brunt has a solid chance of finishing as the highest run-scorer in the WPL 2024. With her aggressive batting talents, she is one of the most dangerous batters in the women’s game right now.
Sciver-Brunt has scored 2,323 runs in 113 T20I matches at an average of 27.01 and a strike rate of 115.57, including 13 half-centuries.
