Petr Cech is quitting Chelsea and resigning as technical advisor
Cech’s statement comes after the resignations of chairman Bruce Buck and director Marina Granovskaia.
Granovskaia recruited Cech to his position back in 2017, and he has been involved in a lot of acquisitions and football matters at the club.
Petr Chech has released official statement and in the statement, he shared that It has been a big honour to play this duty at Chelsea for the past three years. With the club being under the new ownership, I believe it is time for me to stand down. He added that he is very glad that the club is now in a fantastic situation with the current owners, and he is optimistic of the its continued prospects upon both and off the field,” he said.
While the coowner of the club have also revealed his thoughts on the exit of Petr Cech. He said
“Petr is a vital member of the Chelsea family. We respect his choice to step down and appreciate him for his efforts as an adviser and his dedication to the club and our city.We wish him the best.
Cech, who was named to the position in 2019 after retiring, spent 11 years with Chelsea between 2004 and 2015, winning 13 major trophies, including four Premier League championships and the World Championships.
