Pelicans Holding Player-Only Practices In Laguna Beach
Pelicans Holding Player-Only Practices In Laguna Beach: Over half of the New Orleans Pelicans have convened in Laguna Beach for a player-led training camp even though the team’s preseason opener is still six weeks away. Before the team’s actual training camp begins, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy III, Devonte’ Graham, Dyson Daniels, Jaxson Hayes, and Kira Lewis Jr. are all unwinding in the Los Angeles region in preparation for the upcoming two weeks of labor.
On two-way contracts, Dereon Seabron and John Butler are also making their way to the player-only workouts. One of the first veterans to reach the Los Angeles region is Larry Nance Jr. Brandon Ingram, who often does personal workouts close to his base camp in the Phoenix region, is anticipated to shortly join the group.
The public is still unaware of CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson’s participation. McCollum has been highly involved and has even criticized his teammates for not returning calls. He exposes himself to the same mocking from the younger players when he doesn’t show up. Williamson has been observed putting up a sweat on neighborhood outdoor courts in New Orleans.
While neither McCollum nor Williamson have posted any affirmative messages on social media, Jose Alvarado has chosen to take a break from his duties with the Puerto Rico National Team in order to prepare for his sophomore year. Starting right away, there will be a tough competition for the backup guard minutes.
Jonas Valanciunas, who led Lithuania in two FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, will probably take another week off while the majority of the guards on the depth chart will be in California. On August 24, Lithuania defeated Hungary 88–78. On August 27, they will play Montenegro. Valanciunas has no reason to go above and beyond to return to the United States before taking advantage of the Labor Day break.
Even the Californian players are focused on the pool. From their hotel rooms, Murphy III, Hayes, Lewis Jr., Graham, Daniels, and Jones all shared images of the same swimming hole. When Seabron and Nance Jr. pointed their cameras at the Pacific Ocean, they were searching for larger fish.
According to the CBA, head coach Willie Green is not permitted in the gym, but he shouldn’t worry about his team right now. This summer, everyone has been busy holding camps and participating in Pro-Am runs. When the voluntarily conducted runs start, Coach Green won’t even be in the nation. He’ll be in Africa promoting basketball with the Basketball Without Borders team.
The commitment of the whole team reflects the culture that the front office is creating and the personal work ethics of the players. This club thinks the two taken together will result in another playoff run.
