A source close to the club informed Reuters on Monday that Argentine forward Paulo Dybala has reached an agreement in principle to join Serie A team AS Roma on a free transfer after leaving Juventus. Check out compete details about it below.
Paulo Dybala set to join AS Roma
Following the expiration of his contract with Juventus, Dybala was rumoured to be on the move to Inter Milan. Instead, the Argentinean announced that he would sign a three-year deal with Roma worth 6 million euros ($6.09 million).
Following his 2015 transfer from Palermo to Juventus, the 28-year-old scored 115 goals in 293 appearances across all competitions, winning five league crowns and four Coppa Italia medals with the Turin-based team.
Following defender Zeki Celik, goalkeeper Mile Svilar, and midfielder Nemanja Matic, Dybala will be Roma’s fourth addition of the transfer window.
With Jose Mourinho, Roma secured the Europa Conference League and placed sixth in Serie A last year.
Prior joining Palermo in 2012 at the age of 18, Dybala began his senior club career in 2011 with Instituto de Córdoba, where he won a Serie B championship. Dybala joined Juventus in 2015 and went on to win four Italian Cups and five league championships.
He ranks Juventus’ 9th striker all-time. He was also chosen as the Serie A Most Valuable Player twice and became a member of the Serie A Team of the Year 4 times.
Just at age of 21, Dybala made his professional debut international debut for Argentina. Ever since, he has gained over 30 caps, and he has represented his country at both the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Copa América. He scored the game-winning goal in the latter to enable his country take third place.
