Pakistan’s former skipper Mohammad Hafeez’s shocking revelation : Pakistan recently announced their T20 World Cup squad. Shaheen Shah Afridi made a comeback after missing out on Asia Cup due to injury. However, as stated earlier all-rounder Shoaib Malik is not a part of 15 men’s squad, despite the speculations. Shoaib Malik played his last T20 in November 2021 against Bangladesh.
With PCBs announcement of the squad without Shoaib, Malik fans are not happy with the selectors. Due to his importance in the middle order, Pakistan recently got a lot of backlash from former players. Their lack of stability in the middle order that revealed in the Asia Cup final in 2022.
Shoaib Malik also questioned the team selection by tweeting ” When we will come out from the friendship disliking and liking culture Allah always helps the honest people.”
Former Pakistan Skipper Mohammed Hafeez slams the selectors for ignoring Shoaib Malik. However, he also revealed that he advised the player to retire last year after the World Cup. In an interview, he said that he knew Shoaib Malik would not be given respect.

Conversation with cricket Pakistan channel Hafiz says ” I don’t know whether he will get a proper farewell or not now which he should. He has given 22 years of international cricket to Pakistan. Because I as things stand after his recent to eat where he highlighted the liking, disliking, and friendship in the team. Many are happy with him.”
” He gave his best to Pakistan for 21 to 22 years and maintaining a fitness standard for that long is remarkable for any player. When I took my retirement, I told Malik to take retirement as well because I knew he would not be respected as was evident in my case. My understanding is that he wanted to be the last one standing but cricket is cruel.
Mohammad Hafeez retired after the T20 World Cup 2022 in UAE. The former Pakistan captain reveals that he has suggested the management at least give the farewell match to Shoaib Malik who retired from the 50 over format in the 2019 World Cup.
Furthermore, he says, They didn’t entertain my suggestion at all, not even realizing his service. He should have got a match. Our management has been lacking when it comes to farewell. Don’t tell that he cannot cut or pull? Don’t forget that he played cricket for 22 years. You did not play these shots?”
” We need to understand that we need proper cricketers. With which you can make a winning combination whether he is 40 or 20.”
Malik made his debut in 1999. Throughout his tenure, he played 35 tests, 124 T20, and 287 ODI including 12 centuries and 61 half centuries.
