Pakistan Won’t Rest Shaheen Afridi For Netherlands Series: Pakistan cricketer Shaheen Afridi may play just three matches in the upcoming Super League ODI series against the Netherlands.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam indicated that it was best to give the 22-year-old left-arm pacer a chance to rest from the rigors of international cricket for a few weeks. Pakistan will rely on Afridi for the World T20 and Asia Cup tournaments, so he needs to be 100%.
Pakistan captain Azam said they’re looking to build a fixture list for Afridi, who has been out of action since the previous as they take on Netherlands at the Asia Cup.
The Pakistan cricket teams for the Asia Cup and the Netherlands tour were surprising after selecting Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Wasim ahead of Hasan Ali. Shehan was still included in both squads despite lingering knee injury concerns.
