Recently, Pakistan threatens to pull out of the ODI World Cup happening next year if at all India isn’t travelling for Asia Cup. They react strongly to the comment of the BCCI secretary Jay Shah stating that they will prefer to play Asia Cup in a neutral venue.
The next edition of the Asia Cup will be hosted in Pakistan where the decision comes up to Cricket Council’s Executive Board. Shah is the president of the Asia Cricket Council.
In a BCCI AGM in Mumbai taking off on Tuesday Shah releases an informal statement saying. India will be playing the Asia Cup at a neutral venue.
There is also news that Pakistan’s decision comes off to pull out of 50 over the World Cup taking off in India.
A source speaks to one of the leading sports news portals stating about the PCB. He says the PCB is preparing to take a hard decision and will be playing hardball. Because it is also aware that the ICC and ACC events will be facing commercial liabilities.
And they will be losing them if they aren’t playing India in the multi-team events. India and Pakistan matches take off and they play the fixture quite often.
Pakistan Will be Pulling Out of ODI World Cup India Isn’t Willing to travel for Asia Cup
However, India has not travelled to the neighbouring country since the 2008 Asia cup. However, Pakistan came to India previously for the six-match white-ball bilateral series that took off in 2012.
Pakistan didn’t yet release any official statement about the Shah’s reaction. However, they say they have nothing to speak about at the moment but they will be looking up things. And take up this matter at the appropriate forums like the ICC board meeting taking place in Melbourne next month.
After the statement by Shah PCB Chairman and senior officials weren’t happy to hear the news. The officials are also surprised by the news as there is still a year for the event however, the statement comes out quite early.
