Mohammed Hafeez, the newly appointed Pakistan team director, has struggled to win over the team in his first coaching tenure, with players unhappy with his approach thus far.
The former captain was named team director and head coach after the Pakistan Cricket Board decided not to choose separate candidates for the positions.
Hafeez’s appointment marked the end of Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn’s stint as coaching staff.
Hafeez’s first task as Pakistan’s team director was a difficult trip to Australia,
where Shan Masood led the squad for the first time since Babar Azam’s resignation.
The Men in Green lost the series 0–3 but were commended for their efforts in portions,
particularly in Melbourne during the Boxing Day Test.
The rise of Aamer Jamal and Saim Ayub is another excellent development.
However, the former captain has yet to imprint his mark as team director.
According to reports in Pakistan, the players are dissatisfied with the lengthy briefings that provide repetitious material.
According to one media account, he organises lengthy meetings and lectures,
and some of the players become agitated when the same things are spoken repeatedly.
Pakistan is presently playing an away T20I series against New Zealand under Shaheen Afridi.
The trip is not going as planned, with the Men in Green behind 0-2 with three matches remaining in the series.

Mohammed Hafeez has already made numerous daring moves since taking up the team director role
Mohammed Hafeez’s tenure as Pakistan’s coach may not have started well,
but he is determined to change the culture in terms of discipline and mentality.
The former athlete instituted a rule in which players were fined $500 if they were discovered napping in the locker area.
Aside from that, he approved the decision to dismiss Imam-ul-Haq during the
Test series in Australia, allowing Saim Ayub to join the squad.
He also had a significant influence on the decision to demote Babar Azam from the T20I batting order.
With a desire for greater aggressiveness at the top, Pakistan has a new opening combination in Saim Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan,
with Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman batting at No.3 and No.4, respectively.
