The Pakistan National Women’s T20 2024 included three matches on Monday, January 22. Lahore Women beat Karachi Women by nine runs in the day’s opening game.
Quetta Women defeated Peshawar Women by 65 runs. The third match between Rawalpindi Women and Multan Women was low-scoring, with Multan winning by seven wickets.
Lahore remains at the top of the points standings, with five victories in five matches. They have a net run rate of +3.430. Karachi has remained in second place, winning three of their last five matches.
Multan and Rawalpindi have shifted places, ranking third and fourth, respectively. Multan has won three matches and has a net run rate of -0.418.
Rawalpindi has a Net Run Rate of +0.363 and has won two of its five matches.
Quetta and Peshawar remain in the bottom two slots in the points standings. The former has won two of their five matches and has a Net Run Rate of +0.012.
Peshawar, however, is still hunting for their first win of the season.
Quetta’s strong effort helps them achieve a 65-run win against Peshawar
Quetta scored 165 runs and lost four wickets in 20 overs against Peshawar. Dua Majid was the top scorer, with 56 runs off 41 deliveries.
Tehzeeb Shah, Momina Riasat, Aleena Shah, and Seema Gul took one wicket apiece for Peshawar. Peshawar managed only 100 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their innings, losing by 65 runs.
Karachi won the toss and decided to bowl against Lahore Women. Lahore scored 149 runs for the cost of five wickets.
Bismah Maroof had an important innings, scoring 54 runs off 47 deliveries. Syeda Aroob Shah claimed two wickets for 22 runs in four overs for Karachi.
Omaima Sohail scored 46 runs for Karachi, although they only managed 140 runs for the loss of six wickets in their innings.
Lahore won the match by nine runs, and Maroof was named Player of the Match.
Multan won the toss and decided to bowl against Rawalpindi. Rawalpindi were bundled out for just 110 runs, with only two batsman reaching double figures.
Noor-ul-Iman was Multan’s most successful bowler, taking four wickets for 15 runs in four overs.
Gull Feroza scored 61 runs off 55 deliveries for Multan, helping her team reach the goal of 111 runs in 19.3 overs with seven wickets in hand.
