Throughout the Asia Cup tournament, there were many thrilling matches. This is no different, Pakistan and Afghanistan fought in a low-scoring match last night.
Pakistan clinched victory leading to Finals against Sri Lanka. Both the teams now have 4 points. They have won two out of 3 matches in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup.
Afghanistan faced heartbreaking defeat after giving their all efforts to restrict Pakistan. Despite giving a low target of 130 runs, they managed to take 8 wickets. The result not only knocked Afghanistan out of Asia Cup but also India’s slim chances.

India needed Afghanistan and Sri Lanka to beat Pakistan to reach the finals. Pakistan’s team almost lost it while changing 130 runs. They were reduced to 118/9 after 18.5. The 19th over by Asif Ali was amazing as he took 2 wickets. He managed to dismiss the last batters of the team.
However, Naseem Shah had other thoughts.

Naseem Shah came to rescue Pakistan
With 5 runs remaining off 5 balls, he went for 2 back to back sixes to victory. Naseem Shah played 14 off 4 balls, came to the rescue and scored sixes in the last over of Fazalhaq Farooqui.
The first ball of the over was a full toss and the younger went for a six. Before the second ball, Rashid Khan, and Mohamad Nabi were discussing with the bowler. Then again he went for a full toss resulting in another six.
The heated match between the two got different reactions. During the 19th over Asif Ali and Fareed had an ugly spat.
The Afghanistan team, as expected , put up brilliant bowling efforts. Pakistan team found it difficult to score runs after the 10th over against spinners. With back-to-back wickets, the pressure was kept till the end. Shadab Khan and Asif Ali who came for hard-hitting dismissed early. It was youngster Naseem Shah who took them to victory.
Ibrahim Zardan is the top scorer for AFG with 35 off 37 balls. The team could not reach more than 119, but Rashid Khan’s quick sixes took them to 130.
