Pakistan beat Hong Kong to reach record number of points
Pakistan beat Hong Kong to reach record number of points: Pakistan won 155 runs over Hong Kong, setting up a second showdown against arch-rivals India in as many weeks. This will be the last round 4 match before the Super 4s, which is held on Sunday.
Mohammad Rizwan worked hard and post a total of 193 for two for Pakistan in the match against Hong Kong. The Pakistani attack was simply too good for the Hong Kong team and their innings folded up for just 38 in 10.4 overs, sending them to third place. Mohammad Rizwan’s work earned Pakistan a spot in the next round as group leaders.
The Pakistani bats were able to dominate all aspects of the Indian team in the match with Hong Kong. The captain Naseem Shah was able to strike twice in the third over and was then supported by Shadab Khan (4/8) and Mohammad Nawaz, who finished the innings with 3/5.
Shadab put in another impressive performance with googlies, and was at the end of a five-wicket haul against Hong Kong.
In their first match, Hong Kong were full of amateurs and had to qualify for the tournament. They managed to keep Pakistan quiet for most of the innings before losing their way. With Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman struggling to find boundaries, Pakistan reached 64 runs in 10 overs.
Khushdil Shah scored a 15-ball 35 when it came to ensuring Pakistan put up a strong total. On top of that, the skipper, Babar Azam (9 off 8) endured his second failure in as many innings in the tournament but only managed to hit 9. Wanting to accelerate, he went for an aerial stroke over the bowlers head but ended up hitting straight back to spinner Ehsan Khan who dived right and took a fine catch.
Rizwan loves playing cricket. He frustratingly scored a four in the fifth over, which isn’t as frequent as he would have liked. Later on, he showed off his skills when he stepped out to a player and hit the ball for a six.
After reaching his own fifty, Rizwan was able to transform and hit the spinners for some sixes. Pakistan in need of big hits, Fakhar was able to release some pressure by hitting a few sixes on the cow corner of the field.
Pakistan’s bowlers were able to pressure the Hong Kong team, with strategy being thrown out the window and players not able to handle the pressure. Aizaz Khan bowled well in the 20th over, bowling four sixes out of five balls.
