Pakistan beat Australia in the 2nd ODI match played in Lahore. Pakistan team achieved the target of 348 runs. Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq scored centuries to help their team to win the match.
With this win, the series has now leveled at 1-1. Pakistan was heavily criticized after the defeat of the Test series and 1st ODI but they bounced back in the series and succeed to level the series. Now champion will decide in the 3rd and final match of the series.
Pakistan Create The History
Pakistan team achieved the target of 348 runs by losing just four wickets. Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq scored brilliant centuries for Pakistan in the match.
Imam shared 118 runs for the first wicket with Fakhar Zaman and 111 runs for the second wicket with Babar Azam. Fakhar Zaman scored 67 runs.
Ben McDermott scored a century in the debut match for Australia
Ben McDermott scored the first century of his career for Australia. Due to his century partnership with Travis Head, the team was able to make a big score of 348 runs for eight wickets.
Playing only the fourth match, McDermott scored 104 runs in 108 balls with the help of 10 fours and four sixes. Apart from him, Head played an innings of 89 runs in 70 balls.
There was a 162-run partnership for the second wicket between the two. 59 runs came off the bat of Marnus Labuschagne.
Australia broke their own record
Earlier in 1998, Australia had scored 324 for eight against Pakistan in Karachi. Australia’s team has shown an amazing game against Pakistan so far.
In the Test series too, Kangaroos gave a tough competition to Pakistan and won the series.
When will be the 3rd match?
The next and last ODI match between the two teams will be played on Saturday, 2rd of April 2022 from 15:30 IST in Lahore. This match will decide the winner of the ODI series. Fans can expect the mouth-watering encounter in the last match.
