The initial duo for the Paarl Royals will be one of the most strong: Jason Roy and Jos Buttler. Due to their reputation for being hard hitters, the two Englishmen will be essential to their team’s success in the next edition.
Buttler had a fantastic season with the Royals last year, as was previously noted. He scored 391 runs at a strike rate of 132.54 and an average of 39.10.
David Miller, Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Evan Jones, Wihan Lubbe, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dane Vilas, Ferisco Adams, Mitchell van Buuren, Codi Yusuf, Bjorn Fortuin, Nkaba Peter, Lungi Ngidi, Obed McCoy, Tabraiz Shamsi, Fabian Allen, John Turner, Lorcan Tucker, and Keith Dudgeon are the Paarl Royals’ players for the SA T20 2024.
Paarl Royals’ best 11 before the SA20 in 2024
The SA20 2023 playoffs were just barely reached by the Paarl Royals. They finished fourth in the first tournament and had a better net run rate than the Durban Super Giants.
In the first semifinal match, the Royals played the Pretoria Capitals. In the end, the Royals were defeated, and the Capitals advanced to the championship match.
Under David Miller’s leadership, the team won four of their ten league stage games while losing five. They ended up with a draw in one of their matches played against the Johannesburg Super Kings due to rain.
Jos Buttler scored 391 runs to finish as the team’s top run scorer, which is not surprising. With 14 wickets, Bjorn Fortuin was the franchise’s highest wicket-taker.
In the initial edition, the team consisted of 19 players, but it also included players like Imraan Manack, Corbin Bosch, Eoin Morgan, and Ramon Simmonds. To cover the voids created by the departing players, the team signed a few new players.
The Paarl Royals will take on the Pretoria Capitals in the opening game of their SA20 2024 season to finish the game. They have a strong team of bowlers and a fantastic group of excellent hitters.
Before the 2024 SA20 season begins, let’s take a look at the Paarl Royals’ best-playing XI. It is based on the team’s general makeup and balance.
